Alaska is a fascinating location, especially when experienced by sea kayak. This tour is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and an unforgettable experience. We will spend ten days in balance with nature, far from any signs of civilization. We will be surrounded by towering mountain ranges and will pass thundering waterfalls. We will source our water from crystal clear streams, which are fed by millennium old glaciers. We will paddle through iceberg-fields, accompanied only by eagles, seals and whales. We will enjoy freshly caught salmon fried over a bonfire at the beach under the white early summer nights of the North.
The Prince William Sound
Where exactly in Alaska will we go?
The journey leads through the Prince William Sound, a beautiful bay just east of Anchorage. Being protected by a string of island from the force of the pacific, it is a perfect paddle location. Please find the tour route below:
What? When? How?
Day of arrival – meeting in Anchorage, Alaska; Pick up from the airport, transport to Whittier. A water taxi to the starting point inside of Prince William Sound, camping.
Day 2 – 8 We start our paddling tour! We plan to paddle 3-5 hours a day with at least one recovery day. Accommodation will be at good camping spots in tents under the stars.
Day 9 We arrive to Valdez. The ferry will take us back to Whittier and in the evening we will celebrate the long journey with a festive dinner and a sauna!
Day 10 Day of rest and hikes. In the evening we return to the city and airport to say goodbye to Alaska.
Misha started sea kayaking more than 20 years ago. Since then he paddled thousands of kilometers in many seas and countries of the world. He already lead several tours in the Prince William Sound and is very familiar with the sea conditions as well as being very sensitive to the needs and abilities of each and every paddler in the group.
Can I even make it?
Yes! The tour suits advanced paddlers as well as beginners perfectly. In contrast to our courses, this tour aims at experiencing the unique nature of Alaska and less to test your abilities of sea-kayaking.
It goes without notice that the participants need to be fit and healthy. A daily paddling distance of 20 kilometers should not represent a challenge.
